When it comes to their DACs, I am sure I am not gonna get them and get Schiit Modi instead. I am set on between CAN and Topping A50s and its interesting that somebody else on another forum reported when paired with Topping D50s and trying both A50s and CAN, that CAN was more enjoyable and had more power and A50s had no mids in comparison and sounded anemic and fatiguing. I like neutral with slight warmer side sound signature but I wouldn't want it too warm and relaxed lacking details and accuracy. Amplifiers 5 Best Schiit Stack Combinations Reviewed + Setup Guide By Jennifer Max J66 Views Are you looking for the best Schiit stack combinations with excellent audio Have you ever thought of stacking a DAC and amplifier for better sound Schiit Audio is one brand that has all you need to make it happen. You definitely cant go wrong with it, and the build is much better than the K5 Pro. Just kidding, that is a joke about the old beef between Amir M and Jude about Schiit. When it comes to their DACs, I am sure I am not gonna get them and get Schiit Modi instead. Amir from audiosciencereview preferred the K5 Pro, so naturally as a user of Head-Fi you have to buy Zen Dac instead. Might ok for fun listening unless iFi' sound signature's spray of distortion brings up harsh fatiguing brightness. ifi products are not for people who mix music, whatever they market and name "warm relax sound". Its plenty loud without gain already at volume 10 and when going below it, I start getting some slight channel imbalance. a few nights out the bar and some dumb **** on ebay and thats it so i could have gotten it if i wanted.Click to expand.I am set on between CAN and Topping A50s and its interesting that somebody else on another forum reported when paired with Topping D50s and trying both A50s and CAN, that CAN was more enjoyable and had more power and A50s had no mids in comparison and sounded anemic and fatiguing.įor me one of the most concerning issues with ifi, seems to be channel imbalance at low volume that might carry over from hip-dac to zen can for my Sundara. Then again, did i spend the extra couple hundred i saved on anything meaningful? not particularly. a few nights out the bar and some dumb crap on ebay and thats it so i could have gotten it if i wanted.ĮDIT: THEY EL DAC AND MIMBY COST THE SAME, I AM FULL OF crap. im sure theres people out there where its worth it to buy el dac, but the sheer value of the schiit stack vs el stack and given the gear i have, i got the schiit stack. also for 32bit, i decided theres not enough support for me to justify it. ![]() and if thats the case, then in everyday usage and music enjoyment, there's not a chance im going to notice at all, and i have hunch thats how it is for most people out there past a couple hundred dollars and much of discussion about dacs and whatnot is smoke and mirrors ad placebo or only applies if they're really trying hard to tell the difference instead of practical usage/enjoyment. Dont know what you have to spend but the ifi zen can signature 6xx amp and dac just got back on drop. ![]() And both of these setups measure very accurate, so youre not going to get significantly better audio quality by spending more. Sturdier construction with a metal case, too. The JDS Labs Atom stack or Schiit Heresy and Modi 3 for 200 will easily drive the HD 650. But the Zen has advantages with Truebass, power match and balanced, 4.4-mm output. The AKM DAC chip of the Atom+ definitely is more neutral than the warmer Burr-Brown chip of the Zen DAC. to be perfectly honest, am i personally going to notice the difference between 24 bit vs 32 bit or the very slight differences in jitter? no way, and from what i read on the people that can, they have to really be trying with multiple intense A/B tests to discern it. The Atom+ DAC definitely measures cleaner than the Zen DAC, and its cheaper. for the price of just the el dac i can almost get the entire schiit stack. i reaaallllyyy wanted a reason to get the el stack and found myself trying damn hard to rationalize the purchase (mostly because a e s t h e t i c and #DAT #KNOB #THO), but the marginal benefit was just far too little for me. The construction of the case itself is all metal and has a seamless design. The CAN, the ZEN, Phono, and the BLUE all have the same shape and color and stack up very well. OP here, i actually went with the schiit stack (magni 3 and modi multibit). The ZEN CAN has the same retro-looking rounded trapezoidal rectangular shape and design as the ZEN DAC.
